VGMA Is Cursed – Patapaa

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) program, according to Ghanaian hiplife musician Patapaa, has been cursed by God.

In a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the “One Corner” hitmaker revealed that he still hasn’t recovered from losing the “Most Popular Song of the Year” prize in the 2018 edition of the award system.

The vocalist was nominated for a Grammy along with artists including Ebony, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Fancy Gadam, Joe Mettle, and Captain Planet, as you may recall. Patapaa had high expectations of winning that category with his popular song, “One Corner,” but he was defeated by Fancy Gadam’s outright dishonesty.

“I can see that God has placed a curse on the VGMA organizers because of what they did to me,” Patapaa remarked. Not very far, please. If I want to be taken seriously, I’ll add that when we use the word “curse,” it refers to being punished for bringing someone else suffering. I’m reluctant to say it.

“I wanted to use Amakye Dede’s problem as an example, but I’m not going to. When Amakye Dede was not prepared to crown someone, they compelled him to do so, he continued.
