How to Enable Snapchat’s Dark Mode on Android and IOS? – Find Out

Dark Mode (also known as night mode) is an option that allows you to change the app’s color palette to a darker one. Facebook and many other apps, like Snapchat, will enable you to enable Dark Mode. You might also call it “bedtime mode” if you’re planning to use your computer late into the night without turning on any lights.

Even some of the most popular apps do not have a night mode, which is a pity because it is a useful function. Here’s how to turn on Snapchat’s dark mode, regardless of what other apps may be able to do.

How To Enable Snapchat’s Dark Mode On Android?

Although Snapchat has promised Dark Mode for Android in the past, it doesn’t seem to be updating anything else (as of April 2022).

However, Dark Mode (beta mode) may be available to some users, depending on you. It’s too early to tell. Maybe Snapchat found a problem that they can’t seem to fix? We will never know. In any case, don’t give up hope.

Snapchat on Android may not have native support for Dark Mode, but there is a workaround.

To activate dark mode on Snapchat and all other apps, you must first activate “Android developer mode” and then use “Settings” Snapchat’s visibility may be affected by the OS’s Dark Mode setting.

Note: Snapchat does not appear to work with Android 10 and newer when the operating system is set to Dark Mode. Is it possible that Snapchat’s development with Dark Mode on Android was made on Android 9 and earlier? The answer is still a mystery.

This is how you may try it out for yourself to see whether it works for you.

  • Swipe down and tap on the “Gear” (Settings) icon in the upper right corner to access the Settings menu
  • Pick the “Display” option.
  • Switch on the “Dark Theme” It may be referred to as “Dark Mode” on specific mobile devices
  • Return to the “Settings” menu and select the “System” option
  • Select “Developer Options” from the dropdown menu that appears after tapping on the “Advanced” option
  • Scroll down,  then click the “Force Dark Mode” button to activate the option

To use Snapchat in the dark mode, a few options for Android are a little outdated but still work. One option is the Substratum app, which can be downloaded and set up in minutes. On the other hand, Substratum requires that your Android device be rooted.

Even if you don’t want Snapchat to go dark, an app called “Blue Light Filter” lets you soften the harsh lighting coming from your phone’s screen. Blue Light Filter is a non-intrusive solution if you want to decrease the bright lights of Snapchat. Rooting your Android phone is not required to use the Blue Light Filter application, which functions as a layer of protection over the net.
