Cristiano Ronaldo tells Man Utd ‘it’s time for me to leave’

Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a bombshell on Manchester United, telling the club it is time for him to leave.

Portugal international Ronaldo, 37, only made a fairytale return to Old Trafford last summer following very successful spells at Real Madrid and Juventus, but he is said to be considering his future now that the transfer window is open.

Ronaldo is unhappy that he will not be playing in the Champions League next season, with United only qualifying for the Europa League – a competition he has never played in.

As a result, Ronaldo reportedly told the Old Trafford club that he wants to be allowed to leave should a suitable offer come in for him.

Ronaldo is confident he still has three or four years left in him at the very top level and wants to represent a team capable of winning trophies. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner still has the utmost respect for Man United, but seemingly doesn’t want to be part of Erik ten Hag’s rebuild, which could take years.

Ronaldo may find leaving United harder than anticipated, however, after the Red Devils recently warned him he’s not going anywhere amid Chelsea’s interest in him.
